Sports Massage
Sports massage (also known as soft tissue therapy) is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues to prevent injury and aid recovery from sports-related trauma while enhancing performance by increasing aerobic efficiency and range of motion.
In general, this type of therapy requires a deep understanding of human anatomy to be able to manipulate, diagnose and treat the body at this level.
The key-objectives of this treatment are: releasing muscle tightness; addressing minor and chronic injuries; correcting posture; and facilitating a range of motion.
Also, Sessions will often include forms of passive and active stretching with a general assessment at the beginning and end to identify problems and gage improvements.
It is also worth noting that like deep tissue, sports massage can sometimes feel uncomfortable as the practitioner hones in on problem areas. Still, with proper communication, we will never exceed your threshold.
